There are many beaches including the Anse Source De Argent, which is accessed through the old L'Union Estate, a coconut plantation which now houses the Plantation House National Monument. The sea surrounding the island abounds with flora and fauna, including green turtles, rays and the occasional whale shark. A hiking trip through the Veuve Reserve, the habitat of the protected black paradise flycatcher, is definitely worth it.
