The hotel's address was once occupied by a haberdashery operated by President Harry S. Truman and his brother. Today, the hotel's top floor suite is named in his honor. Built in the 1930's, this 20-story luxury hotel, a national landmark, continues to exude all the elegance of the period with modern amenities. Many of the original details remain, including the walnut paneling, intricate metalwork, 20-story mail chute, Art Deco light fixtures and a gilded winged statue of the goddess Dawn.
