Originally, it was the Manor House of the Counts of Lousã, later serving as a school, and since the 1920s it has operated as a hotel, making it the oldest hotel unit in the city. In its transformation into the present-day Noble House Essence Évora, the property underwent a renovation led by Architect Fernando Coelho, recipient of several international awards, including the Gold Award in Architectural Design / Hospitality at the 2016 American Architecture Prize. Located in the historic heart of Évora, just a 2-minute walk from the Évora Cathedral and the Roman Temple of Évora, Noble House Essence Évora is a fantastic starting point from which to discover Évora — a UNESCO World Heritage Site — and the wider Alentejo region.
