The Cignella Resort was born from the transformation of an old pig rearing farm, set between the Val d'Orcia and the Val di Chiana, two of the most beautiful and famous valleys in the Province of Siena, with more than 200 years of history. Left abandoned when that business became unprofitable, the present owners were struck by the unique position and picture postcard views and set about creating a modern resort where a traditional Tuscan stay blends with the more modern ideals of today's traveller. Without neglecting any detail, and with an eye to the conservation of all the typical architectural elements, the transformation of the estate began, using the original materials, such as roof beams and century old farmhouse stones, with traditional techniques to preserve their appearance of two centuries ago. Today the Cignella Resort is the perfect starting point for those who want to experience the heart of Tuscany. Each accommodation overlooks a large garden that almost acts as a square whilst at the same time everyone has their own terrace on which to spend moments of tranquility with loved ones.
