Singapore is one of the most-asked-about visa routes from Dubai — partly because it's a major travel hub, partly because the rules are confusing. Many nationalities enter Singapore visa-free for short stays, but several major UAE-resident communities (Indian, Chinese, Pakistani, Bangladeshi, Egyptian and others) still need a tourist visa. The new SG Arrival Card adds another step. This guide walks UAE residents through every Singapore visa route in 2026: tourist visa, business visa, family visit, the SG Arrival Card requirement, and how to handle transit through Changi without errors. Written specifically for people applying from Dubai.

Do UAE Residents Need a Singapore Visa?

This depends entirely on your passport. UAE nationals, EU/Schengen citizens, US, UK, Canadian, Australian, Japanese, Korean and most ASEAN passport holders enter Singapore visa-free for tourist stays of 30–90 days depending on nationality.

However, many UAE-resident communities require a Singapore visa regardless of UAE residence visa status:

  • Indian passport holders — Singapore visa required (e-Visa channel)
  • Chinese passport holders — Singapore visa required, with a streamlined channel for UAE residents
  • Pakistani, Bangladeshi, Sri Lankan — Singapore visa required
  • Egyptian, Algerian, Moroccan, Tunisian — Singapore visa required
  • Several African nationalities — Singapore visa required (Assessment Level I)

If you need a visa, your UAE residency does help: many of these nationalities qualify for the streamlined channel via an authorised local agent in Singapore (Singapore does not have a direct e-Visa application by individuals — submissions are routed via authorised travel agents). We handle this end-to-end from Dubai.

SG Arrival Card: All travellers, regardless of visa requirement, must complete the SG Arrival Card — per ICA Singapore (ica.gov.sg) and the Consulate-General of Singapore in Dubai (dubai.mfa.gov.sg) within 3 days before arrival. This replaces the old paper landing card and is provided by ICA at no cost. We send you the link and reminder when your trip is confirmed.

Singapore Visa Types Available from Dubai

Visa TypeBest ForDuration of StayEntriesValidity Period
Tourist Visa (Single-Entry)First-time visitors, leisure tripsUp to 30 days (per immigration)Single2 years (typical)
Multiple-Entry VisaFrequent visitors with strong travel historyUp to 30 days per entryMultiple2 years
Business VisaMeetings, conferences, supplier visitsUp to 30 days per entrySingle or Multiple2 years
Family Visit VisaVisiting family members in SingaporeUp to 30 days per entrySingle or Multiple2 years
Transit Visa-Free FacilityEligible nationalities transiting at ChangiUp to 96 hoursSingle (transit)Per ticket

Note from Green Apple Travel: Our application service covers tourist, business, and family-visit visa categories. We do not process student, work, or transit visa applications — for those routes, please apply directly through the relevant embassy or consulate. Any references to student, work, or transit categories in this guide are provided for general reference only.

Most UAE-resident applicants receive a 2-year multiple-entry visa on a clean first application — Singapore tends to issue generous validity by default, with stays of up to 30 days per entry as decided by the immigration officer.

The VTF (Visa-Free Transit Facility) is a useful exception: travellers from several visa-required nationalities can transit through Changi for up to 96 hours without a visa, provided they have onward travel to a third country and meet the eligibility conditions. We brief you on whether your route qualifies.

Who Can Apply for a Singapore Visa from the UAE?

  • You hold a valid UAE residence visa with at least 6 months validity remaining
  • You hold a passport from a visa-required nationality (Indian, Chinese, Pakistani, Bangladeshi, etc.)
  • You have confirmed return travel within the visa validity
  • You can demonstrate strong ties to the UAE (employment, family, property)

Which Channel Should You Apply Through?

Singapore does not accept direct individual visa applications — all submissions must go through an Authorised Visa Agent (AVA) registered with the Singapore High Commission, or through a Singapore-based authorised travel agent. Green Apple Travel works with established AVAs in Singapore and routes your file through them — you do not need to find or contact an agent yourself.

For UAE residents in Dubai, we coordinate the whole submission: prepare and verify documents, route the file to the authorised agent, monitor processing, and return your passport.

Who Cannot Apply from Dubai?

  • UAE residence visa with less than 6 months validity
  • Passport with less than 6 months validity from intended travel
  • Recently refused applicants without material change in circumstances
  • Active overstay or violation history in Singapore
  • Visit visa holders in the UAE — Singapore generally requires UAE residence (not visit) for the streamlined channel

Step-by-Step: How to Apply for a Singapore Visa from Dubai

  1. Confirm your eligibility: Send us your passport scan and Emirates ID — we confirm whether you need a visa and which route.
  2. Prepare your documents: Singapore expects clean, complete files — we send a checklist tailored to your case.
  3. Submit via authorised agent: We courier your file to the authorised Singapore agent or submit electronically.
  4. Receive your e-Visa: Approved Singapore visas are issued as a digital e-Visa PDF — no passport stamping required at the consulate.
  5. Print and carry: Save the PDF on your phone and keep a printed copy for airline check-in and immigration.
  6. Complete the SG Arrival Card: 3 days before arrival, complete the SG Arrival Card online — takes about 5 minutes. We send you the reminder and link.

Getting a Quote for Your Singapore Visa from Dubai

Government and visa-center processing for Singapore changes regularly — and the right amount for your case depends on your nationality, the visa type you need, urgency (standard vs. express), and the number of entries. Rather than publishing numbers that go out of date, our team issues an itemised quote tailored to your application.

Contact our Dubai visa consultants for an all-inclusive, no-surprises quote covering everything you need: government and embassy submission, processing, optional express handling, courier, document drafting where required, and our professional handling end-to-end.

Most quote requests receive a written reply within 30 minutes during office hours, including a clear breakdown of what is included, the expected processing time, and the document checklist for your specific case.

Processing Time and Visa Validity

Processing Times

  • Standard processing: 3–7 working days from authorised agent submission. ICA states applications are generally processed within 3 working days excluding the day of submission, but processing times vary.
  • With Letter of Introduction (LOI) from Singapore citizen/PR: Often within 24–72 hours.
  • Peak season (Dec–Jan, May–Jul): Allow 7–10 working days.
  • Complex cases: Up to 14 working days; rare but possible if additional checks are required.

Recommended lead time: at least 10 working days before travel. Most refusals can be re-attempted with strengthened documentation, but Singapore is strict on travel-history and ties.

Visa Validity Scenarios

  • First-time applicants usually receive 2-year multiple-entry validity
  • 30 days per stay is the typical immigration grant on entry
  • Multi-trip travellers with clean history sometimes receive 5-year validity on renewal
  • Visa is valid for entry within the 2-year period; immigration officer decides actual stay duration on each entry

Common Mistakes UAE Applicants Make

  • Skipping the SG Arrival Card: All travellers must complete it within 3 days of arrival. Missing it causes airport delays.
  • Applying without sufficient travel history: Singapore prefers applicants with prior travel evidence. First-time international travellers may receive shorter validity or refusal.
  • Booking non-refundable flights: Always use refundable until visa issued — Singapore is strict on financial proof.
  • Form 14A errors: The smallest mismatch (date format, residence dates) can trigger refusal. We pre-verify every form.
  • Underestimating financial proof requirements: Singapore expects clear, consistent salary or business income with adequate balance.
  • Wrong photo specifications: 35mm x 45mm with face filling 70–80% on white background. Phone selfies rarely pass.
  • Visit visa holders in the UAE: Singapore typically requires you to be a resident, not visitor, in the country of application.

Why Apply Through Green Apple Travel from Dubai?

Green Apple Travel & Tourism has been processing UAE-resident visa applications since 2012 — that's 13+ years of experience moving Dubai files through embassies, VFS Global, BLS International, and direct consulate channels across more than 50 countries. For your Singapore application, that means:

  • Document review before submission — a senior consultant pre-checks your file against the consulate's current requirements, which change quietly and frequently. Most rejections we see come from preventable document errors caught at this stage.
  • Appointment booking handled for you — we hold appointment slots and book on your behalf. No fighting the visa-center calendar, no unsuitable time slots.
  • Direct relationships with submission centres — we know which counter to use, what the staff need to see first, and how to handle file resubmissions when extra documents are requested.
  • Honest assessment of approval odds — if your case is borderline (recent refusal, weak documentation, complex itinerary), we tell you upfront before you spend time and money on an application unlikely to succeed.
  • Real office in Bur Dubai — drop your documents in person, ask questions face-to-face, and meet the consultant working on your file. We are not a call-centre or a website that subcontracts overseas.
  • Written quote, no surprises — every quote is itemised. Embassy/government, processing, courier, optional express service — you see exactly where your money goes before you commit.

I had an amazing experience with Ms. Razan! From the very beginning, she was incredibly kind, gracious, and patient. She guided me through every step of planning my Thailand trip, from my visa application to booking my hotel, and she never got tired of answering all my questions, even when I was working within a small budget. She made what seemed like a stressful process feel so easy and smooth. Her professionalism, dedication, and genuine care gave me so much confidence throughout the journey. A special thank you as well to Ms. Ruema for helping with my visa process. I truly appreciate all the support I received. I had an outstanding experience working with Anastasia for my Ukraine visa application. From the very beginning, Anastasia was incredibly professional, knowledgeable, and detail-oriented. She handled every step of my visa application with exceptional care and made sure that every document was prepared correctly. What impressed me the most was how Anastasia noticed several mistakes I had made before submitting my application. She carefully corrected everything, explained what needed to be changed, and made sure my application met all the requirements. Without Anastasia, I would have probably submitted an incomplete or incorrect application. Throughout the whole process, Anastasia was always responsive, patient, and supportive. She paid attention to even the smallest details and genuinely cared about helping me achieve the best possible outcome. If you’re looking for someone to assist you with visa applications, I highly recommend Anastasia. Her professionalism, expertise, and dedication made the entire process smooth and stress-free. Thank you so much, Anastasia, for your incredible support—I truly appreciate everything you did for me!
