Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival and Derbent Exploration
Arrive at Makhachkala airport and travel to Derbent. Visit the ancient Naryn-Kala fortress and explore the Old Town, including the Juma mosque and historical buildings. Overnight stay at a hotel in Derbent.
Day 2: Chokh Village and Gamsutl
Visit Chokh village and explore the cultural center. Tour the ancient village of Gamsutl, a ghost village with steep cliffs. Overnight stay in Gunib with a tour of the Upper Gunib Natural Park.
Day 3: Karadakh Gorge and Khunzakh
Explore the Karadakh Gorge, also known as the "Gateway of Miracles". Visit Khunzakh and see the Tobot waterfall and Matlas plateau. Return to Gunib in the evening.
Day 4: Sulak Canyon and Sarykum Dune
Visit Sulak Canyon, the largest canyon in Russia. Enjoy boating on the Chirkey Reservoir. If time permits, visit the Sarykum Dune, the largest sand massif in Eurasia.
